Toby Keith has written award-winning songs, opened a chain of restaurants and even made appearances on the small screen. Now, the country crooner can add ‘guitar designer’ to his resume. Keith has recently unveiled his Signature Takamine EF250TK acoustic guitar and it’s a beauty.
Keith brought his decades of experience playing guitar to the table when he designed this acoustic beauty to his exact preferences. The signature Takamine is loaded with special features, including a jumbo cutaway body and a solid spruce top. Details like the scalloped “X” bracing, mother-of-pearl fingerboard inlays and flame maple back and sides give the guitar a gorgeous sheen that’s so pretty it’s sure to wow even the folks sitting in the nosebleed section at Keith’s jam-packed performances.
Of course, the ‘Hope on the Rocks’ hitmaker’s signature guitar isn’t just a pretty thing to look at. Thanks to Takamine’s Palathetic under-saddle pickup, CT4B II preamp with its three-band EQ, and volume control and built-in tuner, this axe is one that you can use to write a hit song.
After all, Keith knows a thing or two about making hits. Last year, the popular country star released a series of drinking-themed singles, including ‘Beers Ago,’ ‘I Like Girls That Drink Beer’ and ‘Hope on the Rocks.’ All three of the tunes performed well on the charts, with ‘Beers Ago’ climbing to the top 10.
Keith’s signature guitar wouldn’t be complete without…well…the country star’s actual signature. You can find his John Hancock on the heel cap and his silhouette image on a special headstock medallion.

MUSIC IS THE SOUNDTRACK OF LIFE AND IN GOD WE TRUST
Recently, our good friend Michael (a local realtor) shared his experience with Leisa and I about an “Obama supporter” he encountered while showing homes to a low income, working family in Pontiac, MI. We asked him to please write it down so we could share it with you.
As a Realtor for the past 28 years I thought I’d seen or heard it all. Until now. I was showing homes in Pontiac, MI. one afternoon recently and showed up at a home at the 4:00pm time my appointment was scheduled for. After I woke up the homeowner, she let us in and then proceeded to tell my buyers and I that she has already entered into a contract to sell the home on a short-sale. (A short-sale is a sale where the banks accepts less money than is owed on the home). After some chit-chat, she proceeded to tell us that she and her sister (who also lived in the area) were buying each other’s homes via the short-sale process. I mentioned to her that I thought relatives could not be involved in those transactions.
She smiled and said “We have two different last names so no one knows the difference”.
She went on to tell us that each of them owed over 100K on their homes and were in the process of buying each other’s homes for about 10-15K cash. To top it off, they were each receiving $3,000.00 in government provided relocation assistance at the closing. My buyers and I were amazed that she was outright admitting to fraud and yet, she continued. She began to tell us that the best part of her scheme was that because they currently were not working that they (both) are now receiving Section 8 Vouchers. I said I thought those were for renters and she said “That’s the best part; me and my sister are going to be renting each other’s homes so we don’t even have to move, and Obama is going to give us each $800.00 a month to pay the rent!” She then picked up a picture she had framed of Obama and did a little happy dance around her living room and while she kissed the picture she was singing “Thank you Obama…. thank you Obama.” So here is the bottom line…
Both of these scammers got at least $80,000.00 in debt forgiven, $3,000.00 in cash for relocation (when in fact they did not relocate) and to boot, you and I will now be paying (through our taxes) $1,600.00 in rent for each them each and every month…. perhaps forever!
And I also would not be at all surprised if they are receiving food stamps and whatever other programs are available for anyone who is willing to lie to get assistance. These women went from working and paying about $900.00 each in mortgage payments to staying home and getting paid $800.00 each per month to live in the same home they had been living in and all they had to do was lie on a few papers. This craziness has to stop! I’m sure this kind of fraud is going on each and every day all across the country and no one wants to touch the subject of entitlements because they might OFFEND someone or lose a vote or two.
By the way … she had an almost new SUV in the driveway, three flat screen TV’s and a very nice computer set up in her living room which was furnished entirely with nice leather furniture.

George Jones Talks ‘Bittersweet’ Final Tour and New Album With Dolly Parton
After a career of six decades, legendary country music singer George Jones is bringing his touring career to an end with a farewell road trek dubbed ‘The Grand Tour,’ which kicked off in Tunica, Miss. on Feb. 2. In a new interview, the Possum talks about his excitement at the album he’s currently making with Dolly Parton, and looks back on his career with a sense of wistful nostalgia.
“It is a little bittersweet,” the 81-year-old singer tells Billboard of his decision to retire. “I have been blessed to do what I love for all these years and when I return to places that I know I will be performing for the last time it makes me a little nostalgic and sad. I will surely miss my fans and the good people I have met along this journey.”
Jones is also retiring from recording, but not before releasing one final studio album with the help of fellow country legend Parton. “I love Dolly, always have and I am so honored to be doing a project with her,” he states. “She is writing most of the songs and we all know what a great songwriter she is. I am just waiting for her to tell me what to sing and when to sing it!”
Jones won’t be going off into the sunset empty-handed. He’s won arm loads of industry awards and accolades, but when it comes to his legacy, Jones says simply, “I would like to be remembered as a singer who stayed true to country music and did it my way.”
Eight-year-old Annafaith has quite a few videos posted on YouTube, but we like her innocent cover of the classic George Jones song ‘He Stopped Loving Her Today’ the best. Where does someone so young find the powerful emotions needed to do this classic justice?
Listen and watch as the crowd erupts for the tiny singer during the climatic moment of this performance. The little girl has a strong voice — and a love of country — and she takes her time with this Jones hit, even though she has to be shaking with nerves. Little kids singing classic country songs are a ToC favorite. Way to keep that traditional sound alive, Anna!

Here’s an undate on little Josie. God is working. My first time of holding precious baby Josie – I am so blessed. Please keep praying for Mel, Shawn and family as they work through a very busy schedule in caring for the little ones at home and Josie. Pray for Josie’s lungs to totally heal so she can go home to her family. This family has been such an example of Jesus to the NICU and others – praise the LORD for them as they walk this journey out. thanks.Thanks. Jo
PAUSE AND REFLECT: Pause and reflect upon these words – think how blessed you are… Another chance this day brings, you’ve survived millions by far. Whisper a prayer for God’s mercies, ask Him to strengthen you too… He knows trials you face and the number you go through. Question not why you must wait, let go problems, led God… Be assured He’s never late, He’ll direct the road you trod. Turn your frowns into smiles, Refrain from worry, don’t groan… a lifetime is but a short while, Look up, keep holding on.
