ALL THE NEWS THAT IS NEWS

SPEEDO DON’T TAKE IT SLOW One of my all time favorite tunes, Speedo by R&B group The Cadillacs, is now a top 1950s Golden Oldie. Earl [Speedo] Carroll is one of the original members of 1953’s the Carnations. When they record, they change their name to The Cadillacs. In 1954, Josie Records releases their first record, Gloria, which becomes a Doo Wop Classic. Late in 1955, The Cadillacs record their biggest hit, Speedo, which lands at #3 R&B & #17 Pop. The Cadillacs also score big with Peek-a-Boo (#20-1959 R&B & #28 Pop). Both of those tunes are in my vast record collection. In 1963, Earl joins the Coasters. In 1979, Carroll leaves the Coasters and rejoins the Cadillacs to remain for the rest of his career. From 1982 to 2005, he is the janitor at Public School 87 in Manhattan. On PBS fundraising concerts, we marvel at Carroll and the Cadillacs. On Sunday, November 25, 2012 Earl [Speedo] Carroll dies at 75 of diabetes and a recent stroke.

JOANIE GREEN-GALLO (Tulsa, OK) Jim, I thought I’d pass this on to you in case you hadn’t heard. ‘Longtime Tulsa Radio Personality Passes Away – Posted by: David Peterlinz, Sad news as longtime KMOD radio personality, Phil Stone passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21. Stone made up half of the longtime morning radio duo, Phil & Brent, which recently signed off the air after twenty-five years. Phil & Brent were known for memorable characters like Roy D. Mercer, who was known for his humorous prank calls. Former show co-host and friend Mary Moore, told Tulsa’s Channel 8 that they were “good friends” and she was “deeply saddened” to learn of his passing. Moore credits Stone with her ability to “handle any situation.” She recalled a time when Stone took her to a charity dinner for his son’s school. Moore said Stone didn’t tell her she’d be the only “girl” there. Moore said Stone loved putting her in “awkward situations.” Joanie

ROBERT TINDLE (Lufkin, TX) Subject: Bill Lee O’ Daniel Clark. Henry Larocca asked me to send you the info about the passing of Bill Clark. He was born in Hemphill, Texas and worked his career in radio at Beaumont – Port Arthur, Texas. I worked with him in the 80’s at KYKR and KLVI. Wonderful person with a “satin smooth” voice! One of the best “one on one” type communicators that I have ever heard. I posted a picture of him on my Facebook page and in the “Texas Radio Hall of Fame Group”. JOHN HALE (Dallas-McKinney, TX) Subject: Jim Rose Remembers Radio (#1150) November 26, 2012 [Monday] Hi Jim, It was shocking, to say the least, to learn of the divorce between Wayne Dolcefino and KTRK. I worked with Wayne at KLBJ and at KTRH, and I have no doubt he’s the finest investigative reporter ever…his awards speak to that. His investigating and reporting style can be abrasive, but that’s mostly because he’s the one totally fearless reporter I’ve ever known. People that worried about attracting his attention never seemed to get the basic idea…don’t do anything wrong, and Wayne won’t go after you. He’s much too good not to be back on the air, and if KHOU is very smart, they’ll make sure that happens sooner, rather than later. John Hale; McKinney, Texas

JOHN WALTON [Walton & Johnson Show] (Houston, TX) Yeah I started at KOMA in OKC while I was a pre-law student at OU…they sent me down to Dallas because in those days you had to get the “1st Phone” to work on the 50kw directional array…yeah sign me up. We do share quite few listeners. Our network covers mainly southern cities, but our satellite bill is the same as nationwide…we should probably consider expansion…stations are a little “stand offish” since we are quite expensive…(but worth on the bottom line).

Back when I was on KRLD in Dallas, I tried to do the same thing Larry has done…provide entertainment for folks over 50 years old! They wouldn’t let me and my show was cancelled after just a year! Good for Larry! Best, Jim Gough

Rhon’s Inspiration Station A New CEO No Problem

Americans went and voted November 6th,

below is what I wrote before the election, here is what I wanted the world to see

It is now too late as Obama has won a second term but not to waste my efforts you may want to still read my comments below:

I will vote for the most pro-life candidate, because God hates the shedding of innocent blood (Proverbs 6:17).

I will vote for the most pro-Israel candidate, because God blesses those who blesses Israel & curses those who don’t (Genesis 12:3).

I will vote for the most pro-debt reduction candidate, because the borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7).
I will vote for the most pro-work candidate because God says if a man not work, let him not eat. (2 Thessalonians 3:10)
I will vote for the most pro-marriage candidate, because God is for marriage as defined in Genesis 2:24
I will vote for the candidate who most closely believes government’s purpose is to reward the good & punish the evil (Romans 13).

A successful business man was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business. Instead of choosing one of his Directors or his children, he decided to do something different. He called all the young executives in his company together He said, “It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you. “The young executives were Shocked, but the boss continued. “I am going to give each one of you a SEED today – one very special SEED. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO.” One man, named Jim, was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly, told his wife the story. She helped him get a pot, soil and compost and he planted the seed. Every day, he would water it and watch to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other executives began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow. Jim kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, still nothing. By now, others were talking about their plants, but Jim didn’t have a plant and he felt like a failure. Six months went by — still nothing in Jim’s pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing Jim didn’t say anything to his colleagues, however, he just kept watering and fertilizing the soil – he so wanted the seed to grow. A year finally went by and all the young executives of the company brought their plants to the CEO for inspection. Jim told his wife that he wasn’t going to take an empty pot. But she asked him to be honest about what happened. Jim felt sick to his stomach, it was going to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but he knew his wife was right. He took his empty pot to the board room. When Jim arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other executives. They were beautiful – in all shapes and sizes. Jim put his empty pot on the floor and many of his colleagues laughed, a few felt sorry for him! When the CEO arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted his young executives. Jim just tried to hide in the back. “My, what great plants, trees and flowers you have grown,” said the CEO. “Today one of you will be appointed the next CEO!” All of a sudden, the CEO spotted Jim at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered the Financial Director to bring him to the front. Jim was terrified.. He thought, “The CEO knows I’m a failure! Maybe he will have me fired!” When Jim got to the front, the CEO asked him what had happened to his seed, Jim told him the story. The CEO asked everyone to sit down except Jim. He looked at Jim, and then announced to the young executives, “This is your next Chief Executive Officer! His name is Jim!” Jim couldn’t believe it. Jim couldn’t even grow his seed. “How could he be the new CEO?” the others said. Then the CEO said, “One year ago today, I gave everyone in this room a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds; they were dead – it was not possible for them to grow. All of you, except Jim, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Jim was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new Chief Executive Officer!

* If you plant honesty, you will reap trust*

If you plant goodness, you will reap friends*

If you plant humility, you will reap greatness*

If you plant perseverance, you will reap contentment*

If you plant consideration, you will reap perspective* If you plant hard work, you will reap success*

If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation

So, be careful what you plant now; it will determine what you will reap later.

Think about this for a minute.

If I happened to show up on your door step crying, would you care?

If I called you and asked you to pick me up because something happened, would you come?

If I had one day left to live my life, would you be part of that last day?

If I needed a shoulder to cry on, would you give me yours?

This is a test to see who your real friends are or if you are just someone to talk to when they are bored.

Do you know what the relationship is between your two eyes?
They blink together, they move together, they cry together, they see things together, and they sleep together, but they never see each other; that’s what friendship is.

Your aspiration is your motivation; your motivation is your belief, your belief is your peace, Your peace is your target; your target is heaven, and life is like hard core torture without it!

So Lady Gaga arrived in South Africa and thousands fo Little Monsters are happy their Queen is here. Well I dont care who she thinks she is after listening to some of her songs words, I believe that real Christians are right about her, she is a satanist. She may be welcome in South Africa by all she has managed to fool, but for me she is not welcome here at all. At least some of the kids who listen to her mucic will not think too deep about the lyrics of her songs. I cannot change the world and dont want to as it seems to me as though everything that is happening is prophocied. Some may now want to argue with me about all of this but I dont want to enter into an argument about whether you think Lady Gaga is a satinist or not. It is your your life and your soul. The sooner she finishes here the better, I am no fan and will never be one of her monsters.

Below are only some of the comments on South African news about Lady Gaga, and if you take the time to read them you will notice who her little monsters are……

Does Black America Believe Obama Is Our “Jesus”

Jamie Foxx Says, “First of all, give an honor to God and our Lord and Savior Barack Obama”

In the Church of Jamie Foxx, President Barack Obama might be known as “Our Lord and Savior,” but that doesn’t mean the title bodes well with certain Christian groups.

Foxx is taking some heat after using the Biblical title for Jesus Christ to describe Obama at the 2012 BET Soul Train Awards.

To Star in Spiderman 2 ?

During the show, Foxx took to the stage to praise Obama when he used the godlike terminology, E! News reports. “It’s like church over here. It’s like church in here.

First of all, give an honor to God and our Lord and Savior Barack Obama,” he said to the audience.

E! News notes that the Soul Train Awards aired Sunday night, but was filmed in Las Vegas just days after the president won reelection in November.

Foxx’s comments incited furor in some Christian groups after the show aired on BET.

The president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights in the United States, Bill Donahue, released a statement regarding Foxx’s “Lord and Savior” comment, referring to a 2011 red carpet interview in which the actor said he does not know what God means to him.

“Foxx’s epiphany is startling. It just goes to show that even though Obama did not succeed in stopping the oceans from rising (as he promised to do in 2008), he did succeed in convincing Jamie Foxx, and no doubt legions of others, that God exists,” Donahue writes. “Whether God can survive an ACLU lawsuit accusing him of violating church and state grounds remains to be seen.”

Radio host and Fox News commentator Mary Walter said the “Django Unchained” actor’s reference may root back to reliance on government. “The intellectually superior don’t need the crutch of religion,” she said on Fox News, according to Mediaite. “Those of us clinging to our guns and religion… we’re somehow less evolved. It’s about a societal religion as opposed to a church religion, because if the government gives you everything, the government becomes your religion, and he’s our leader.”

NewsBusters, which also blasted Foxx, has previously criticized Obama-as-God references in the media. The conservative blog chastised Newsweek editor Evan Thomas for saying that Obama is “standing above the country, above the world, he’s sort of God” during a 2009 interview.

Jamie Foxx You know not what you say, yet you say it, judging by the comments we read on the internet,
you may have thought it cool, while some did, in this case most did not.

Let it be known that I take offence to these references to Obama as “Our Lord And Savior”, yet I know and understand that some people can be easily fooled, which never the less is no excuse.

Sorry Spiderman, I will have to go without the sequel I just cannot support Jamie Foxx, no matter how good I know the movie will be.The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is currently scheduled for release on April 18th, 2014 in the UK and May 2nd, 2014 in the States.

Take Care Of The Important Things In Your Life Today

WE MUST LEARN TO FIRST TAKE CARE OF THE IMPORTANT THINGS IN THIS SHORT LIFE OF OURS.

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle and 24 hours in a day not enough; remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee. A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and start to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured it into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.

The students responded with an unanimous ‘yes.’ The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students found this amuzing and laughed. ‘Now,’ said the professor, as the laughter subsided, ‘I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important thingsGod, family, children, health, friends, and favorite passions Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the things that matter like your job, house, and car. The sand is everything else -The small stuff. ‘If you put the sand into the jar first,’ he continued, there wouldn’t be room for the pebbles or golf balls.

The same goes for one’s life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness; Play with your children. Take your wife/partner/friend out to dinner. Take time to go for that medical checkup.

.

There will always be time to clean the house, fix the dripping tap or wash your car. In other words ‘take care of the golf balls’ first – the things that really matter.

It is important to set your priorities.

The ‘rest is just sand.’ One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled and said, ‘I am glad you asked’.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.’

Bradford Files: 2 Much Entertainment 2 Choose From

Recently our youngest son asked us if we could baby sit our two grandchildren so he and his wife could go Christmas shopping for the two kids. Within 5 minutes of their arrival we had already asked them how school was going and received the usual 1 sentence answer we have come to expect. Now bear in mind we were now a total of 4 people in the house. My wife Lita, Myself, and the 2 grandchildren. Here is what took place next…Lita went to the kitchen to start cooking and turned on her counter top radio to her favorite station playing all Christmas songs. I went to the computer and started listening to WHIR to catch the Independent Superstars show. My grand-daughter decided it was time to watch her Justin Bieber DVD for the one millionth time. My grand-son was busy playing a new video game that resembled some kind of war strategy. Four people in a small house all doing their own thing to amuse themselves. The only time we sat together for 15 minutes was when the food was on the table. My question to my faithful readers is, does this sound like your house? Do we have too much entertainment to choose from?
