Picture Below: Marc in his music store, back when he produced me
From Port St. Lucie, FL, Marc was my first producer back in the 90’s and he’s a great keyboard player. I recorded many of my earlier songs there before and after I went to Nashville (had to usea pic from that era as I couldn’t use the online pics of his current showcase band). I hadn’t been using his services since I moved away because I didn’t know he had a way to work long distance; however, having learned that I also use Dropbox, Marc writes that he’s been using it for about a year.
He works with many people who have Pro Tools who put down down their song ideas at home (like vocals & guitar) then send him their song (through Dropbox) & then he brings musicians into my studio to lay tracks, then I will send back a rough mix, work changes they may want, then produce a final mix of their song(s). It is the wave of the future where people use their home studio to work out their ideas, then use large large studios to polish & produce their songs. Now he works with people as far away as Texas or N.Y. He’s laid down tracks for people who are looking for Keyboard parts to their songs. One guy from Tennessee who used his studio for drums and keyboard, a studio in Georgia to lay background vocals, bass, and steel guitar, and a ocal studio near him to finish & mix his project. Marc plays keyboards in his church Praise band and is also in a Showcase band. In fact that is their name! Check it out! I enjoyed the videos there. Click for Marc’s Showcase Band
He wrote that his friend shot the videos but that he’d done the editing. Now there’s a talent I didn’t know he had. Now that he & I both have Dropbox, I can use his superb keyboard playing for my upcoming new songs! Yay!
RhonnieScheuerman: Although she retired from promoting the end of July, Rhonnie, from Kodak, TN, will continue with songwriting and her Inspiration Station column as time permits. She and husband Bob are currently bringing their daughter, Diane, from FL to their home in TN. After visiting relatives in other states (including Rhon’s brother who is very ill) they will be taking care of Diane, who has MS, at their home. Rhon was always the best promoter in the biz, with many awards to prove it. An extremely prolific songwriter, with many top songs on the charts at any given time, not only does Rhonnie write in many styles of music, she’s known as the “Queen of Theme”, having written dozens of ’cause songs!
I’m blessed to be writing songs with this incredibly talented songwriter & dear friend. We’re so happy to have been inspired to write a special love song YOUR HAND PRINT ON MY HEART and also one that gives listeners hope in these trying times: More info about it below:In recent months Rhon has had a column on WHIS NEWS 21: “Inspiration Station”. Each week she used to come up with inspired subjects that many folks could relate to. Now that she will be taking care of Diane, she will write the column as time
allows. Here’s a timely one (written earlier) about the sad state of affairs of our great country that offers hope and also explains why we wrote LET’S MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN Click to read story of our Patriotic Song @ Inspiration Station email@example.com

chart. Because of it’s worldwide appeal and the fact that it offers hope and a solution to the problems in today’s world, it is being released again in September (WHP #136) and also on Tunesville Express #7 for the Christian market. DJs, please request this song if you don’t have it. It’s a great pre-election song!!

EXCITING THINGS ABOUT SEPT. SINGLE RELEASES
You may have enjoyed being here recently to witness my surprise when a rep. from a well-known Promotions company (BWAM) wrote to ask if I would come and perform I’M PAIN SHY for Nashville music executives. WOW!! I was sooo elated that they liked that song (and my singing it) that much; however I had to decline. Good & necessary reasons too! As I explained to the rep., the Nashville music community thought I was too old back 20 years ago when I was trying to get in the door. Miffed, I sent them my TOO OLD BLUES song, which and A & R rep. loved, but still insisted I was too old, after I’d mentioned K T Oslin, who was signed when she was 46. I was told she was an exception and they wouldn’t be doing that again! Even though I looked 20 years younger back then and still do, there is no way they’d ever accept me, especially when I have a physical impairment that would keep me from travelling to any extent. I further explained it has always been my goal to have name artists sing my songs and/or have a song of mine in a film or TV movie, etc. It was like Thanks but no thanks! Where were these people 20 years ago when I looked like I was in my 30’s!! ; ).
My vocal producer back when I’d written both songs above, Marc Rabins is the reason they were written. I’d been in his studio each time and heard him just fooling around on his keyboard, playing cool grooves…and the start of both those songs came to be. Without him the songs would not have been written, so of course he has writing credit. TOO OLD BLUES went out on a Nashville Comp. CD back then and it was a small miracle that both of us got a tiny royalty on the first song I’d released as a single! A talented keyboardist, Marc is being spotlighted this time also.
As concerns HAND PRINT ON MY HEART, I have good and sad news. First the sad news: I learned recently that Phil York, who had done the final mastering on it and was to nominate it for a Grammy, but had to go into Hospice Care before he had a chance to do so, passed away a few weeks ago. It was just a week before his dear friend, James Allen, who’d also been in Hospice care, had gone to be with the Lord. James had a promotion company and was the one who referred me to Phil. James was well-loved and respected in the music industry and will be missed by so many! The good news about this song, along with it being on playlists and charts worldwide, is that I just learned that it was added to DJ Tom Kawai’s playlist. He reports to STS (Spins Tracking System) and it gets reported to Cashbox, which is almost as good as being on Billboard’s charts. What is so special about being on DJ Tom’s playlists is that if it gets a good response, he keeps it on his 24 hour shows for months. This has been the case with a number of my songs, the longest one to remain was LITTLE GIRLS, BOYS & PUPPIES, which stayed on for 6 months! I’m so grateful to DJ Tom and also to many of my DJ friends, who play my songs regularly… such as DJ Bev Walmsley, (Canada); DJs David & Julie Matheson (Tasmania); DJ Dean Wilt (NY); DJ Arno Bierings(Netherlands); DJ Kurt Gabriel (Austria); DJ Bill Luce (TX), DJ Bruce Cutler (PA); DJ Vickie Campbell (CA); DJ Cowboy Werner (Germany); DJ Jerry Mac (PA); DJ Patty Patrick (Austria); DJ Paddy McArdle (Australia); DJ Mike Stephenson (TN); DJ Wyn Machon (New Zealand); DJ Marjorie Cottle (Australia) DJ Ulla Kiel (Germany) & so many more. These are ones I hear from most often though.
These two single releases may be downloaded at Airplay Direct, if you subscribe to it. Link to WHP #135 Comp. CD Click here for Gary Bradshaw’s radio show . I visited there today and he has a great video of Dolly Parton & Tammy Wynette singing 6 of Tammy’s best-loved songs. Check it out.. Also you can download the last 8 of his WHP compilation CDs.
A release that few know a about is that in late July, CD Baby had a special deal where members could add a song to sell for free. I chose LOVE IS LIKE (that I solely wrote) as it had never been released on one of my own CDs; however it had been on a WHP Comp. CD a few years ago. CD Baby link to hear or buy. DJs, please request if you don’t have this MP3 for airplay.
Also, don’t forget you can have me send songs you need or entire albums by DropBox. As I long ago ran out of my CDs I’m so pleased that I can send them from large file websites or from DropBox!
COMPANY VISITING FROM OUT WEST
Later in Sept, my cousin Vesta Weber (on late Mother’s side) and her husband Bud will be visiting here after having stopped in Wisconsin for the SOWI songwriting Awards show, as Vesta had submitted our co-written song (with Ray Lani) THANK HEAVEN FOR EMAIL. She also submitted a song she solely wrote for their 50th anniversary, which they’re celebrating with this trip. Read about that song in “Friends News” below. I have some fun things planned. It will be the first I’ve seen her since we were youngsters, but we’ve been keeping close with email..which was what inspired the email song!
See ya next time! Blessings ‘n hugs,
